We started NeuroSquad to unite neurodivergent families, exchange resources and wisdom, and build the neurodiversity-affirming community we always wanted.
After my son’s autism diagnosis a few years ago, I searched everywhere for a positive space where I could ask questions, seek advice, and just find someone I could relate to. Our goals for this community are simple:
- To inspire neurodivergent kids to embrace their identity and love themselves
- To share information that can help us advocate for our kids and make informed, neurodiversity-affirming decisions for them
- To support inclusion in all the places we can: homes, schools, communities, and beyond.
All this actually started with a book I wrote at the start of the pandemic. It’s called Different! Awesome!, and I can’t wait to share it with you. It will be available soon, and I’ll be sure to let you know as soon as it’s ready.
For now we have something like a pile of LEGO. Lots of interesting parts that will come together into something amazing. There’s a lot more to come – stay tuned!
We’re thrilled to have you come with us on this journey. Welcome to the squad!
